Policies & Guidelines
Welcome to our Sewing Project Referral Portal. As a non profit organization, EcoEquitable’s goal is to connect clients (i.e. those who are searching for sewists for specific projects) with skilled sewists (i.e. those who are available through the portal to provide sewing services) from our community through the Sewing Project Referral Portal while supporting fair, independent, and professional collaboration.
1. Our Role
As an organization, we act as a connector between clients and sewists. We do not provide sewing services in-house or directly.
- All agreements are made directly between the client and the sewist
- We host the Sewing Project Referral Portal and review the submitted project
- We introduce clients to suitable sewists based on project needs
- We do not guarantee outcomes, timelines, or quality
- We accept and review testimonials, final project photos, and impact data to ensure and communicate efficacy of the portal and its intended purposes
2. Project Submissions
To ensure effective matching, clients are expected to provide:
- A clear description of the project
- Measurements and specifications
- Timeline expectations
- Reference images if applicable
Incomplete or unclear requests may not be accepted. All projects must be appropriate, safe, and lawful.
3. Sewist Participation
Sewists listed on the portal are independent individuals who:
- Are approved participants or graduates of our programs
- Maintain professional and respectful communication
- Accept only projects that match their skills and availability
- Sewists are not employees of the organization.
4. Matching Process
We may recommend one or more sewists based on your request.
- Final selection is made by us unless you have a specific sewist in the list that you would like to work with if they are available to accept it.
- Sewists have the right to accept or decline any project
5. Payment
All payments are arranged directly between the client and the sewist.
- The organization does not handle payments
- We do not take commission
- We strongly encourage parties to agree to pricing and payment terms before any work begins
6. Timelines & Delivery
Project timelines are agreed upon between the client and the sewist.
- Sewists are expected to communicate any delays
- The organization is not responsible for missed deadlines
7. Changes & Revisions
Any changes after the initial agreement is the responsibility of the client and/or sewist to discuss and resolve.
8. Cancellations
Cancellation terms are determined between the client and the sewist.
- Deposits and refunds, if applicable are handled between the client and the sewist
- The organization is not responsible for cancellations or refunds
9. Disputes
All agreements are between the client and the sewist. The organization does not mediate disputes formally.
10. Code of Conduct
We expect respectful and professional behavior from all users.
- No harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate conduct
- We reserve the right to remove users (ie. Client and/or Sewist) who violate these terms of use
11. Liability

13. Communication
After a match is made, all communication between the client and the sewist takes place using the agreed communication method and outside of this portal.
- Communication may be conducted via email, phone, or text message, as agreed by both parties
- The organization does not monitor or manage ongoing communication
- Both client and sewist are responsible for maintaining clear, respectful, and timely communication
- All project details, agreements, and updates should be confirmed directly between the client and the sewist
Summary
We are here to connect you with talented sewists in our community. Once clients and sewists are connected, we do not have a further role in the project, until it is completed. Upon successful completion of a sewing project, we will ask for a brief summary of both Client and Sewist experience, testimonial, or photos of the final product.
All project details, agreements, and outcomes are managed directly between clients and sewists.
